The iofy software is a free, simple media player that lets you download and play iofy audiobooks on your Mac or PC. You can now even zip your downloaded audiobooks to a chip, or zip them to your iPod so you can listen on the go! Of course, you can always play a chip you already own on your computer too.

important details

  1. Install the software that you have downloaded at www.iofy.com/download
  2. Next, insert your chip in to your computer and run the iofy software by clicking on Start, then Programs, then iofy.
  3. iofy application will ask to enter login credentials first. If you do not have iofy account, please hit "Cancel" button on this window. It will allow you to use iofy application.
  4. In the iofy program, it will show your chip title name on the player screen. Go ahead and select it. If you can not see your chip title name on the iofy player screen, click on "View" and choose "My iofy Media". You will see your chip in the list.
  5. In the File menu, choose "Zip..." - you will be prompted on how to move your title to the iPod.

known issues - PC

  • Zip! may not be able to calculate the amount of free space on your iPod if you are running iTunes 7.4 or earlier. This does not affect the transfer process.
  • Duplicate Track Entries are created in iTunes if user tries to zip same AudioBook more than once.
  • You must be connected to the internet while launching the iofy player, logging in or out, and attempting to download purchased content. 
  • Occasionally, track order is incorrect when zipping to iPod.
  • "My Media" remains in title bar when download begins.
  • If user is launching iofy application from 'Start' menu first time after the installation, user has to login using 'file-> logon' menu.
  • User can not use 'Forgot Password' option.
  • Zip to Chip is not available at this time. Future releases will incorporate this functionality.
  • Sometimes, iofy player hides behind other windows.
  • Zip to WMA may not connect for a license. Retrying can resolve this.
  • Zip to iPod does not work if user unchecks 'Enable disk use' option in iTunes

known issues - Mac

  • Zip! may not be able to calculate the amount of free space on your iPod if you are running iTunes 7.4 or earlier. This does not affect the transfer process.

  • If you launch the iofy player without an active internet connection, you may receive the error "Download Failed: ...".
  • The info button only provides information on the audiobook title. Passages and Bookmark functionality are not available in this version.
  • Currently, user can not zip their titles to Chip using iofy player. Future releases will incorporate this functionality.
  • If user is launching iofy application first time after the installation, user has to login using 'file-> login' menu.
